works in stone

In addition to works in print, I sometimes create things with longer projected lifespans.

All are created without the benefit of power tools – just hammers, chisels, saws, rasps, extremely high grit sandpaper, and lots and lots of time.

The figures are provided here to show how these are created so if anyone is interested in taking up this practice they can have a guide to follow.

Stone: blue alabaster. Bear, mostly modeled on a juvenile female polar bear.
Stone: blue alabaster. Bear #2, mostly modeled on a juvenile female polar bear.

Stone: princess green alabaster. Badger #1, waiting for someone to read to her.

Stone: agate alabaster. The persistence of gravity: not a cairn in the world.

Stone: African wonderstone. My first elephant.
